Subject12/01/98VOL057 shipmodels@wr.com.au ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- INDEX 1: B-Resina 2: HMS Ajax Camouflage ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: graham walker Subject: B-Resina Hi, Just a quick note, if the rest of the B-Resina range is anything to go by I should imagine that their County class is rubbish. It will be the old Airfix kit cast in a controlled shrink resin, and then recast. Unfortunately the days of this kind of quality is long past. Be warned if like me spending 50+ I think that for my money I should get something that is correct. Their Iron Duke was at the level of my first scratch build about 5 years ago. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: Sanartjam Subject: Re: HMS Ajax Camouflage Hi, Mr. Eisenstadt has already found all the still photos I've ever seen of the Ajax in that sort of two-color camouflage. The only thing I can suggest is the video "Close Up for Actions Stations," No. 3 in the Naval Video Time Capsule series, which you can get in the North American VHS format from White Ensign. It has some great footage of the RN Med Fleet in 1940-41, and that includes a Leander-class cruiser (which could be Orion, Ajax, Leander or Neptune) in a pretty wild two-tone camouflage (which I assume is 507C light grey and 507A dark grey). Hope that helps. Art Nicholson ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Volume
