I think it was published back in the 70's, and hasn't, to my knowledge, been reprinted, but it turns up from time to time with the used book dealers. In the UK, I'd check dealers like Anthony Simmonds, G.L. Green, Frank Smith, or Fisher Nautical. Good luck! Today they are published by Squadron/Signal (the new issues). The old ones (including that on Enterprise) are offered on sale in the monthly flyers, and,at least in the february flyer, listed as out of print. BTW, the last time I saw D&S 39 offered was in August, I think. Besides that, they are not included in the 1998 catalog. Ben, if you are interested in it, and if Squadron offers it again, I can send you the reference. Regards. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: Hank_Lapa@signalcorp.com Subject: Mystery Liner Kit All, Is anyone out there familiar with the large (1/400-scale) injection-molded kit of SS FRANCE by Brifaut? This is not the ITC/Glencoe mold. I got one a couple years back and would like to know something about the kit's history. Is this right? If so does anyone know where I can get a copy, or if not can I get a xerox copy. Will be glad to pay costs. << There were no Ensign or Profile booklets on the Battle class destroyers. There was a small booklet published by Almark in 1971 written by Peter Hodges called Battle Class Destroyers. It was 66 pages (including the covers), soft bound, and contained numerous photos, four side view drawings (no plan views), and four pages of full color reproductions of the ship's crests. The bindings on these books are rather fragile, they tend to crack when placed open on a flat plate copier. The book is not a great modelers reference, but is the only one devoted specifically to this ship class (as far as I know). Try running a search through a used book dealer, expect to pay about $20.00 to $30 dollars for a good copy. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From: DSisson384 Subject: Ship model builder Hi to all that read my posting !! Looking for someone to finish a kit you started and don't have time or desire to finish, or a kit you've found or want found and built?? I am a professional, experienced model ship builder ( approx 17.5yrs, and approx 42 ships now ) looking for new projects from new or previous clients to build for.....My prices vary ( special circumstances considered ) depending on size, rigging requested ( running only or full sail rigging ) number of mast, and extent of detail called for in instructions combined with my past personal experience building to produce a quality kit you'll be proud to display in your home for all to admire. Although I do like money it is not my primary concern, as I do this for the love & challenge of building another ship for someone to display in their home, and to keep my hands & mind busy after an injury has left me partially disabled. So if you've got one in mind or started and no time or experience to finish it up, or a new kit you want built with the utmost attention to detail for yourself or another please give me a hollar at DSisson384@aol.com or at my home 253-847-7710. I would be happy to give you a quick quote and as many references as you'd like to have...... Have a goood one, and I hope to be building one for you sooon, Ray Thanks to all that have responded to my Ad;Aking ( a beautiful clipper ) and Chegeo ( a beautiful Titanic ) previous clients, and thoase I am currently building for now.......
