As I know it will be not before September this year. Take a look on there website: http://www.revell.de/ Uwe Besken Muenster (Hessen), Germany ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: Bradford Chaucer Subject: Re: IPMS Nationals >> More manufacturers are paying attention to ship modelers. I guess. Tamiya had the new Yamato on display. Iron Shipwrights, White Ensign Models, and Classic Warships had examples of their latest products and it looks like a good year for ship modelers. WEM's new 1/700 Warspite should be a winner, judging by the hull casting on display, and even some << Could you provide some more detail on new releases from the ship model vendors? A vendor by vendor list would be nice! It is kinda expensive, but I understand that it uses high quality components. Personally, I could not fathom why the Lindberg drive kits were so expensive. It seemed to me they offered run of the mill components for a grossly inflated price. Model Expo used to carry some running gear parts. (They may still.) Midwest sells decently priced prop/shaft/strut assemblies. They are more "mainstream", so your local hobby shop can probably get them easily. Another good source is Hobby Lobby - the airplane-oriented RC mail order outfit based in Tennesee. They carry a good selection of Graupner stuff, which also seems to be decently priced. The downside is that everything is metric, so you can't mix and match parts with US suppliers. It was great being able to put faces with the names. I really enjoyed Alan Raven's and Jeff Herne's talks. For all those Yamato fans (those who love it and those who love to hate it) there were only two - one in 1/700 and one in 1/350. The Best of the Show and the People's Choice both went to nautical subjects. The Best of the show went to a scratch built 1/350 USS Texas. No disagreements there - it was awesome. The People's Choice went to a South Pacific PT Boat diorama. Though there was some disagreement on the accuracy (deck planking?) it was a fun diorama. Another nautical diorama and my favorite also took an award was the humorous "Olaf wasn't sure what it was but hoped it wasn't coming back!" showing half a viking longship with teeth marks across the center and some rather concerned looking Norsemen. (Of course the "Come out with your pants up!" showing a group of G.I.s surrounding a German outhouse was rather good too.) The lunch was fun with 8 of us going to the 94th Aerosquadron. Alan Raven showed his usual serious side by ordering french fries and asking what vintage the catsup was. I forgot to ask what FS number that would be. Although I seriously overspent by purchasing eight resin kits (OUCH!) I think a good time was had by all. And although I took some good natured jibes at my lack of entries this year, I am already planning on Orlando next year and hope to have my monster finished. For you Ausies and Kiwis, I have a serious airline mileage problem. I travel frequently with my work and have to use some airline miles for a personal holiday. I am planning on a trip to Australia and New Zealand in the coming year and would like to know if there are any good modeling events approaching. Regards, Duane Fowler P.S.
