Thank you very much for the splendid review on this matter. Get some Ace Resin I would suggest getting an Ace Resin kit and making some copies of the F-14s. Now I'm sure someone out there will be screaming about copyright infringement, but making duplicates for ones own personal use is something I have no problem with. Not to mention the fact that it would save you a LOT of money and you would have a ton of extra plastic planes you may never use. You would be applauded for conserving plastic! You would be saving the rare and endangered plastic tree! Seriously though, Ace Resin kits sell for about $25.00. The kit has everything you need to make molds and pour some resin. It also includes instructions and tips to make one and two piece molds and has enough RTV rubber and resin to make lots of little F-14s. Plus you would have the mold for the next time you build a carrier. I keep Ace Resin on my work bench for many such little projects. It's as useful a tool as my Xacto knife. What I need to know is if there are photos of/references for her that would show me her fittings and paint job, and in/on what books/mags/web sites I would find them. Boy, that was a lot of /'s. Also, many, many thanks to Mr. Wiper for his announced book on my favorite ship, the Big J, BB-62. I look forward to adding your book to my library, and hope to find many new photos to improve my many models of USS New Jersey (9 at last count, in scales from 1/700 up to 1/192, in various stages of construction). Id like to cut to waterline and spuce it up a bit..make a nice contrast to my 1/400 Graf Spee...This kits hull ok? I have the 1/700 Pit Road Prinz...very nice.. I know the Heller 1/400 kit is at least 20 years old ..Can this old girl be spuced up to look good? look forward to your replys. Cheers Bill C -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From: "chenyangzhang" Subject: French Destroyers Hi Paul Marines Editions have a volume on the Bourrasque Class due out. I've got a copy on order but apparently its not due out until the end of the month. It should answer some or your questions though. Chris Langtree -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) From: SteveWiper@aol.com Subject: Re: Trumpet Brand "Palo" kit >> I was in the hobby shop today and saw a kit of the Italian Cruiser "Palo" by a Chinese company called Trumpet. Is this the Tauro kit reboxed? Just curious if anybody knows anything about this one or this new company from Red China. << Ray, This is an all new 1/350 kit, from all new toolings(molds). This kit is not a pantagraph of the old 1/400 Tauro kit. The quality is OK, not great, not horrible. There is not much in the way of detail, but the basic shapes are OK. It is worth the price. The ship in question is the Italian heavy cruiser "Pola", from the WWII era. She was from the "Zara" class, but had a flagship bridge design, making her very different from her three sisters (Zara, Gorizia, & Fiume). I hope to print that title late this year, or early next year. I have collected over 150 photos, numerous copies of original blue prints, so I will start putting it together soon. I have gotten Pitroads Set, which looks pretty good to me, but there are only a couple of each in there. Is any of the manufacturers offering these as well. Like, if I was trying to get 20 F14s, preferably with the wings in the back position, where would I look for those. Or is the only option to get 5 pitroad sets and cut the wings in the right position. Same question for F18s and A7s << Look into the Airstrike 700 line from White Ensign at: http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/avenue/xdt22/ In addition to the F14 (I believe they come swept), you can but an entire air wing. I know they have A-6s and A-7s as well as a bunch of Korea-era carrier borne aircraft. (I'm not positive about the F/A-18 in 1:700 scale. I am always seriously looking to publish books by authors other than my self. I believe that I could provide you with some of the best printing quality at some of the best prices available. To back up what I am saying, please contact me about getting some free samples of my work in the Warship Pictorial line of books I publish. I also can offer an extensive distribution network, which will make world wide sales that much better. To give you an idea how many books I sell, I am currently moving approximately 150 books per week. Putting your JKN British destroyers into my series will help with sales as well.
