Several months ago I bought the Tamiya O Class kit. As I go to build it, I notice that there is no instruction sheet in my edition. I wonder if any of the list readers has a scan (or photocopy) of the instructions that they can send me. Thanks Michael -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "Bill Livingston" Subject: Anatomy of the Ship - latest news Hi All, I have just got off the phone from someone at Conway Maritime and been assured that they are expecting three or four copies of each book tomorrow, with the bulk arriving early next week. The delay has been caused by their printers, which they have now changed. Now for the news. You will no doubt know that one of the FOUR titles being reprinted was for HMS Hood, well the complete list, available next week, is as follows: HMS Hood HMS Dreadnought HMS Endeavour HMS Bounty In the spring we can expect: Type 21 HMS Warspite Hope this is of interest! All the best, Bill Livingston -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From: Lkjohnson214@aol.com Subject: F4U Corsairs I know that they are wingy things, but they flew from carriers and were painted Navy blue, so they do have some relevance. Anyhow, in September of 2002, those of you close to Indianapolis Indiana will have a rare opportunity to see a large collection of these naval fighters. At the annual Indianapolis Air Show, Vought is sponsoring 'The Gathering", which will bring in 24 airworthy Corsairs and several personalities, including 12 members of VMF-214, Medal of Honor Winner Col James "Zeke" Swett, Korean aces John Bolt and Guy Bordelon. There is also talk of VMF-314 holding its reunion there with the current squadron participating with some F-18s. This will be maybe the last chance to see so many F4Us and meet some ofthese personalities from naval aviation. I found the information on www.f4ucorsair.com last night and have already cleared my scedule to take in all three days of the show. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't this kit sold by Airfix as USS Buchanan orginally? I've reread AOTS Campbeltown and after transfere to the RN she had the hull number of I 42. But who manned her? Was it Free Polish or Dutch crews assigned to her? I have one of the orginal kits and in comparison to other ships it has window detail. The bow 4 inch gun has a shield on it.
