I also found some in the craft paints for making fake stained glass. They were on a small bubble card and cost about 2$. There were four(?) tips in the pack, ranging in size from about 1/64 to 3/32. They make good glue applicator tips, also. << Thanks, Dave. That narrows the search area down enough so that I won't have to wander the aisles of Wally World all day, convincing the clerks I'm crazy by asking everybody if they know where the little metal tipped thingies are. I'll be off on a shopping trip later today. Mike Settle -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: Stfanm@aol.com Subject: Dragon Russian amphibious assault/hovercraft set Hello there, I have been searching for the Dragon Russian amphibious assault hovercraft set, with the three Russian Hovercrafts, Bear & Helicopter support. I am having no luck at all in finding this set ... can you point me in the right direction for one possibly? Thanks & take care, Stfan Muramaa -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: Colm O'Leary Subject: 3 ft Revell Cutty Sark Kit Hi, Just got deivery today of the old '70's 3ft Revell kit of the Cutty Sark. Seems like a great kit but but I was wondering if anyone on the list has made this kit and if there were any problems or inaccuracies that I should know about? Also, the sails are covered on one side by flock. I suppose the '70's were the era of flock wallpaper but I hadn't realised it had spread to models. Does anyone have any ideas about how I could safely remove this stuff?? Still waiting for the kit of the Victory to arrive so I might as well get started on this one and add it to my other "nearly finished" kits. Any info at all on this kit will be greatly apreciated. Colm O'Leary -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "Andrew Jones" Subject: tugs on Sydney Harbour Hey Mike Ask your mate what were they doing to the HMAS Brisbane yesterday..the tugs started taking her out past the Garden Island, & looked like she was leaving Sydney.. I looked back an hour later & there she is sitting back at the dock again.. It is so funny to watch them move the Brisbane.. every now & then , some tugs come along pull her out a few feet or maybe into the middle of the harbour..then they might spin her around 1 or 2 times & then an hour later they put her back right where she came from... they testing her stability or just giving tug boat captains something to do in spare time!? lol Andrew Oz -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From: Bradford Chaucer Subject: Re: Squadron Putty: Green or White? >> I figured that was the problem that the putty had no place to vent as the the nose was sealed along all the seams - must have gotten hot I guess. << Lack of venting is only a part of the problem. The filler uses a solvent that eats styrene. The lack of ventilation will slow evaporation hence keep the solvent in contact with the styrene longer, however a thick layer will also cause the same effect. If you want to encapsulate weights in a nose cone/radome, try lead shot retained by RTV or epoxy. Regards, Bradford Chaucer -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From: Burl Burlingame Subject: tugs Speaking of tugboats .... YT-146 Hoga and other yard craft on Dec. 7 seem to have been painted Measure 1. What color would they be inside the bridge? A light color? Measure 1? Natural wood? Modelling minds want to know....
