Now I am planning a long independent tour of Europe and I am looking for bookstores with a naval/military stock. As I plan more I will be looking into Germany and France but I am starting in London and Greenwich. I haven't been to England since 1978 so I would suspect things have changed. Thank you, Michael Zimmerman -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: Ron Hillsden Subject: Etch name plates and DIY photoetching The process with photocopy film is described at: http://members.shaw.ca/modelflags/tips/pe.html Ron Hillsden Victoria BC Canada -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: JRKutina@webtv.net (John Kutina) Subject: U.S. Navy - Images of Aircraft Carriers http://www.chinfo.navy.mil/navpalib/images/image-cv.html -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "Matthew Prager" Subject: Re: USN Catapults Bruce, I'm sure you're right, I'm half a world away from my resources and wasn't able to check. My site devoted to RN and Commonwealth ships are moved to new URL. http://members.jcom.home.ne.jp/hmdock/ Though many of articles I write before are written in Japanese only, I will write English articles also from next update. Best, John Snyder White Ensign Models http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/white.ensign.models/ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: John Snyder Subject: WEM Pro 3504, USN 5"/38 Single Mounts Well, you've been asking for it. Now, Peter Hall has created the master and it's off to the caster for production. Though useable on any US ship that carried the single enclosed mount, we're aiming this at the Tamiya 1/350 FLETCHER, and will be selling the mounts in packs of 5. Take a look at the master at: http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/white.ensign.models/pro350/pro3504.jpg http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/white.ensign.models/pro350/pro3504a.jpg Note that the mount has the correct offset on the barrel position, all the requisite doors & hatches, and that the barrels are separate to allow elevation to any degree. We are NOT doing separate gunhouses with the extra slope for Mounts 51 and 55, but will include instructions for creating that extra slope (it's VERY subtle at this scale). You wanted to correct your FLETCHER--now you can! Orders being taken now, though we're waiting for a quote from the caster before we can set the price.
