I've spent a good deal of time researching the Mark IV's for the modeling I'm building of the USS Stevens (preliminary construction picts on the SMML webpage). I guess I've gotten to be a bit of a zealot when this subject comes up. Best, Bruce -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: MEDWAY Subject: Re: the auction It is Boronia Art Gallery who are holding the auction on Monday 13th May. See http://www.market.fairfax.com.au/traders/mkt.html Michael Brown -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: "Matthew Prager" Subject: 1/192 scale fittings Can anyone clue me into a source of 1/192 scale modern warship fittings? I'm specifically looking for twin .50 cal mg mounts but other things as well. Thanks, Matt Prager -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "Poutre, Joseph A" Subject: Re: name plates From: David Fisher >> I have found plastic name plates to be better than brass for the following reasons: 1. They do not tarnish 2. the contrast between the underlayer and the top layer make for easy reading 3. various color combinations are possible. 4. any trphy shop can make them and they are relatively inexpensive. << All that may be true, but brass looks much better, will probably outlast the model, and can be polished if tarnished. If plastic is discolored, sometimes all you can do is toss it out and buy a new one, and plastic always looks like plastic.
