Go to my favorite source for pictures of U.S. Navy ships and craft at NAVSOURCE - a direct link to USS Carronade is: http://www.navsource.org/archives/10/06001.htm Cheers, Mike NAVYDAZE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: "Franz Aigner GmbH" Subject: HMS Kelly torpedoed by S-boats Chris Langtree in "The Kelly's" (what a great book, by the way!) writes on p. 71:"...a large white E-boat suddenly appeared out of the dark and tried to ram Kelly, bouncing off her side and the hitting (HMS) Bulldog before sinking." In WP Nr. 15 "Schnellboote" on p. 3, the incident is described as follows: "S-30 through S-33 responded by launching torpedoes at the cruiser and three destroyers. HMS Kelly was hit, severely damaged and low in the water. The Germans retreated, undamaged,..." So what gives? Anyone out there in SMML-land can clarify the matter? Richard -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: Pieter Cornelissen Subject: Re: To Sami >> What's your sites address for the 1/1250 PE? << Hi Sami, any chance of making a ratlines set available in 1/700? The only source I know so far is the GMM merchant ship set and with all the 1/700 predreadnought era kits coming out I think I could use quite some of them. I mean, scratchbuilding ratlines in 1/700 is NO FUN AT ALL - tried it once so far and it should remain a once in a lifetime experience..-:). Pieter Cornelissen Delft, The Netherlands -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "David Clark" Subject: Landing Craft Colours The Outlines Landing Craft publication has a photograph of an LCM 3 on the cover in an interesting colour scheme. The well deck and horizontal surfaces are possibly dark gray, vertical surfaces are probably RN white with a disruptive pattern that appears to be black. Can anyone confirm the colours?
