Does anyone know of a supplier in the UK? Regards, Roger Antrobus, Sussex, England ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From: "Rod Dauteuil" Subject: 1/350 Nimitz Bill, It's in their catalog for 2003-2004. Rod ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From: Lawman555 Subject: Call signs and signal flags Gentlemen; Can anyone tell me if the ship's call signs would normally be displayed in the form of signal flags. This is regarding a WWII era Sub-Chaser. Thanks ahead of time. Jim Myers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From: "Craig Bennett" Subject: Re: Trumpeter Nimitz hI Bill About the Trumpeter 1/350 Nimitz class carrier. Well according to the 2003-4 catalogue it's listed as kit #5605. The Essex is #5602 so it may not be the next one to come out. Their 1/350 line calls for #5601 HORNET CV-8, #5602 ESSEX CV-9, #5605 NIMITZ CVN-68,#5606 USSR Admiral Kuznetsov, #5608 LEXINGTON CV-2. It's listed as a release yet with these numbers it may not be next. I guess only time will tell.I heard that they make a late war Essex class carrier due to the success for the Essex kit itself.Well I hope this is of help to you. Craig ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From: "Graham Boak" Subject: Re: Arado 196 Camouflage >> Most Ar 196's did not have a splinter scheme. Because most were on Capital ships, they were painted a single colour top with the standard helblau undersurfaces. << I believe not. The two uppersurface colours were very similar and in many photographs it is very difficult (if not impossible) to detect any difference. However it was normal to have the two upper surface colours and a/c with a single green were rare, at best. Given the comparative freedom permitted in Luftwaffe units with regards to colours, it is impossible to be dogmatic, especially later in the war with detached units scattered on all fronts. However, for a shipborne-aircraft, home based close to Admirals and the like, I would be very surprised is it was anything other than according to the book. Many creators of colour aircraft profiles have failed to understand this. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From: "Craig Bennett" Subject: Re: Trumpeter Nimitz Hi Bill I have a 2003-4 catalogue of Trumpeter and the kit is listed as #5605. Their (Trumpeter)last release the Essex was #5602. When this kit is coming out I don't know but and hopefully it will be new molding. I hope you will have the opportunity to join us here in Camden, across the Delaware River from Philadelphia. I would be grateful for your assistance in helping the ship spread the word about this event by forwarding this message to anyone you feel may be interested in attending. Please feel free to email me with any questions. We have some of the best battleship models on display anywhere in the United States, with several custom made, highly detailed subjects such as the ROMA and JEAN BART in 1/350 scale. Our newest exhibit, "Int'l Battleship Development," features several great models as visual aids directly embeddded in the technical narrative text which traces the dev. history of the battleship, and all are in a constant 1/350 scale. We also feature a 24" WWII Searchlight (working) and a display of actual 18", 16", 14" and 12" shells. Thank you, and I hope to see you in June onboard the "Big J!"
