I have the FLT1/2 detail set at the photo etchers and I would like to begin design on the FLT2A if a kit is available. Thanks in advance. This certainly solves many problems on more than on kit I'm working on (anyone see the quad flak on a Heller kit)! I did say thank you? On the Hull there are lot of small half looking balls on the hull, are all these on the real ship and as many and how many of them am I going to half to off to make it look right? << Those "balls" are actually supposed to be inhaul padeyes that allow the overboard painters to clip in closer to the hull to facilitate painting. They are actually loops of wire. You should probably sand them all off. If you are a glutton for punishment you can replace all of them with loops of very fine wire. Ed Mansfield, TX ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8) From: andrew jones Subject: Titanic in 3D On the weekend I saw Ghosts of the Abyss..Titanic in 3D & i must say..this is one eveyone should go & see I was a bit worried seeing that Bill Paxton, was a guest star & i though t that the entire movie he would be doing the over acting style commentary that most actors seem to do..hence i dont watch too many doco's for the voice overs at time..but oh well.. he only really speaks about 3 or 4 times through the movie, so its not that bad. But the film is great, not just adding the 3D effects to it, but the tour of the main dining hall & the hole where the grand stair case was etc was mind blowing & the ghostly effects of people walking around the decks etc was great.. the only thing is that is some cases they had 3 little screens going at once so if you really focus on 1 you might miss out something good on the other screen or even the main back ground screen. At the end of the movie, it was dead quiet for about 20 seconds before people finally moved & started to talk It was given by the local paper as a 6 out 10..i would give it at least a 7 I must say the job i want the most is to be one of those rough riding divers that ride the mini-subs when they are attaching the crane... better than any bucking bull i have ever seen at an extreme bullriding comp! www.imax.com.au it has a link to the official site regards AJ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) From: Sanartjam Subject: Re: HMS Lookout Camo Scheme Hi, Now that there are 1/700 and 1/350 kits of British L & M class destroyers with twin 4.7-in guns, I was wondering if anyone had any opinion on the camouflage scheme worn by HMS Lookout in January 1942. There's a photograph of her starboard side in the scheme in a number of publications, including Hodges & Friedman's Destroyer Weapons of WWII, Peter C. Smith's Fighting Flotilla, and Part 2 of Alan Raven's article on the appearance of British destroyers of WWII in Warship No. 2 (bound volume I). The scheme shown in the photo seems to have three colors in a really nice disruptive pattern. Any thoughts on the colors used, and any thoughts on what the port side looked like? There is a small portside shot of Lookout in Fighting Flotilla, but it's hard to tell very much and I don't know if it's the same scheme. Thanks very much!
