Will we ever see that one again? << Just remember, time is the equalizer of the odds. He may give you some free samples! Johnson Wax Professional Locked Bag 28, Rydalmere NSW 2116 4/40 Brodie Street Rydalmere NSW 2116 AUSTRALIA 61-2-9638-8600 Ulrich H. The only currently available kit is the Commanders/Iron Shipwright kit in 1350th. However, this link, http//www.commanderseries.com/pages/LCI230.htm, shows a picture that I am willing to swear appeared on a Lindberg kit of an LCI, the vessell the LCI(S) was based on. Anyone remember the kit? Am I dreaming? I can't find it on Rajen's List, so am doubting my memory. << Rajen's List isn't perfect. It's only as good as the collective memory of people who contribute to it. If somebody does have evidence of a Lindberg LCI, we'd like to know about it! All help is appreciated. BTW I am still collecting reviews and other information for Version 6.3, so if you've got a review or other information to contribute, please let me know. David R. Wouldn't mind knowing how it compares. Seeing like how you've had experience of the real thing like. -) And if your "little feline friend" doesn't mind of course. Maurice ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From JRKutina@webtv.net (John Kutina) Subject Lindberg LCI kit You are right - I have 3 Lindberg LCI kits. They are approximately 1/160 scale. They were basic kits - but with some kitbashing they are satisfactory. I cut them down to waterline to make a diorama. Regards, John Kutina ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From Dan Owsen Subject Russian Cruiser Aurora Anyone have any tips on matching the green hull bottom for the Russian Cruiser Aurora? Thanks! D. Owsen ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7) From David Wells Subject Re LCI(S) Shane, Now that I've sent out my rant, what shows up on e-Bay, but the kit that Alan Millen is looking for. http//cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3168920659&category=2590 Lindberg kit 2221. It's going into Rajen's List version 6.3. I'm not bidding on the above kit, but if some SMMLlie buys it, I want a review! (that's the "finder's fee") David R. OK guys, I know what a helpful and generous bunch you are but this is ridiculous. I must have had around sixty replies to date (decisions, decisions). I was thinking of painting my house in a gloss coat or opening an Australian Future Floor Polish franchise, but I couldn't take advantage of your generosity. Whilst I'm very thankful to all who responded, I've decided to take the first offer received from Steve Susich of Nextel Partners (just thought I'd slip in a little plug for you Steve). It's nice to know there are so many nice people (especially modelers) in the world. Then again, what else would you expect from SMMLies. If any of you are ever in old Sydney town look me up and I'll put some shrimps (prawns) on the Barbie for you and line up a few coldies. Speaking of coldies, it's been a long hot day here and I'm off to check out the refrigerator. Best wishes and Happy New Year (Boldog Uj Évet !) Steve Varhegyi ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9) From Jeffon10@cs.com Subject Re LCI(S) I remember the Lindberg LCI kit and even built one. (It was about 12 inches long.) ALas, mine's long gone and I can't provide info as to where to get one. Jeff Fenton ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRADERS, ANNOUNCEMENTS & NOTICEBOARD ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) From Fkbrown90@aol.com Subject Bluejacket's Manual Does anyone on SMML have a complete U.S. Navy Bluejacket's Manual, 5th (1917) or 6th (1918) edition, for sale? Condition is not critical, but all 807 pages plus index, charts, fold-outs, etc. should be present, even if detached. I am not a book collector, but do want the valid information contained therein as reference for my model of a WW 1 sub chaser as well as for the free histories of specific chasers I provide for relatives of original crewmen, as a hobby. I have looked at the several used book websites, but have become wary of the variation of condition descriptions given, and have come to rely on SMML for straight talk. If so, please contact me, off post, at fkbrown90@aol.com Thanks.
