I felt like a complete change of era and scene... my next project will be HMS ABERCROMBIE, in camouflage as in 1943. I am armed with the Kemp book, a Profile Morskie book along with a Combrig kit and a clear workbench! Does anyone have the camouflage layout for the port side?( assuming the camou layout on the stb side shown in the Profile Morskie to be accurate...) In addition... what were the colours used?...someone somewhere will be able to assist I hope..!! thanking all you knowledgable chaps in advance JIM BAUMANN ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Tim Perry" Subject Re Soviet Deck paint etc Further to the inquiry about Russian/Soviet colours, are there any actual specifications, equivilent to FS595, RAL, BS4800 etc for Russian/Soviet colours available anywhere? Having never seen a real Russian vessel (not yet anyway, roll on Trafalgar Day celebrations next year!!) I only have the Net and a few books and magazines, and as we all know, that way lies perdition...... However, recent pics of 620 and 610 look a lot darker grey than the earlier Soviet colour schemes, as well as having green helo decks. I am no-where near painting my Sov yet, but it would be good to know if the info is available, or else its going to be an eyeball job! Progress so far at site link below. I used Liquid Nails for projects which is fine for styrofoam building material. It says it right on the side, and will not melt the foam. Other solvent based glues or rubber cements will ruin your project.
