He was Clayton C. Blevins, PH2 and served on the Jefferson in 1944-45. Al Blevins ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Tim Perry" Subject Re Noah's Ark >> Propulsion is irrelevant to hogging or sagging. This is a static condition related to the vessel length, wave length, and hull weight and strength. << Oooo, I've been biting my tongue over this! Nice to see some facts! Thank you David! I reckon a TRUE scale model of the Ark would depict a big reed raft, enough for a family of 5 or six, with a couple of cows, a few sheep and goats and some chickens. They sailed across a flooded river, it took them 2 days. Everything else is Chinese Whispers...... Please note, God may well have told Noah the flood was on its way, and how to build the raft, I have no opinion on that side of the story at all! Hello to all Submarine enthusiasts out there.. Seem to post this question once a year, without positive results, they do say perseverence works. So here goes once again a modeller friend is trying to find information on a RN WWII submarine kit he is building. Does ANYONE have information on British Royal Navy World War Two submarine colours?????? There has to be information somewhere on this planet. He has tried the usual sites Submarine Museum etc without success. If you can help in anyway please write to me.. book reference, sites, photos, vague notions.. HELP! Simon ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From Ron Subject Re kit for USN AP 37 President Jackson Frank, I currently have a dozen or so photos of the AP-37 class ships and know what boxes to visit for another couple dozen at NARA. These are scans of 8x10's at 300 dpi and the files run 6.5-7.5 megabytes each (making e-mailing them out of the question). I'm thinking of selling CD's of images for personal use (note, this means only you will use the photos, agree not to post them on the web, not to sell them to anyone or give away copies to others and not to use them for profit......I have significant time invested doing the research and scanning and would like to make a little money off my efforts). I haven't yet figured out a pricing schedule. If you're interested in a CD with good photos for a reasonable price, I'd be happy to scan the other couple dozen photos I know of for the class. NARA probably also has plans but those run $2.70/linear foot. To give you an idea drawings for BB's of WWI-BB-48 can run 40-100 linear feet. I can get plans but I'd have to pull them, see if they're what modeller needs, if they're in good enough condition to copy and get the total linear footage and then would need to be paid in advance plus Priority Mail postage with insurance (actual cost for the plans and postage plus a fee for research time....time researching and copying plans is time away from my current research projects).
