Scranton 'On Time, On Track, On Target' 1/350 Scale Los Angeles Class Attack Submarine I ordered them Thursday, and they arrived on Tuesday. Average price, with shipping, was 10 dollars (US). Let it be known that I do not work, or have any association with the company. I am just thrilled with the product and service. Here is their website... http//www.usbrassshop.com/ Ed Wandall ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Jim McNeil" Subject naming ships I don't have any definative answer but it was explained to me that "Queen Mary II" would indicate that the ship was named for Queen Mary the second. "Queen Mary 2" would indicate that the ship was the second ship named "Queen Mary". Jim McNeil at Slackers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Pirie and Kathy" Subject Re Duct Tape Residue Franklyn We sure could use Earl Proulx right now. There is something called (I'm not making this up) Duck Brand adhesive remover, but I have heard that WD-40, Goo-Gone, or denatured alcohol should do the job. For vinyl siding, I think I would try WD-40 or Goo-Gone. Pirie Sublett ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From Subject Re Duct Tape Residue >> I would appreciate it if SMML could please suggest a solvent for removing duct tape adhesive residue from ordinary house vinyl siding. << Best product I know of is "Goo Gone" manufactured by Magic American Corporation, Cleveland, OH 44122 , Tel 216-464-2353. As with any product you should test on a small area first. Michael London ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From David L Miller Subject Small props Try Tower Hobbies, they have a good selection of RC props. Some are small. http//www.towerhobbies.com/listings/cat-cat-b.html Also, at this scale, and for non-racing, low speed applications, you might just want to try making your own props. It is not too hard. You can even use epoxy rather than solder. Good Luck, Dave Miller Macomb, Il ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From "GARRETT, DAVID M (SBC-OPS)" Subject Trumpeter v. L'Arsenal Jeremiah O'Brien The long awaited Trumpeter and L'Arsenal versions of a 1350 liberty ship appears to now be on the market. Can someone compare and contrast the two kits for me (e.g., in terms of details, accuracy, difficulty, etc.)? I understand the Trumpeter price is around $40 but read somewhere that the L'Arsenal model is $150. Is the L'Arsenal version significantly superior and, if so, in what way? Would someone recommend a reliable website where either can be ordered?
