I tried, it, and by golly, it worked !! Lucky I have some duct tape left over, I will use it to hold the remains of my house together. Franklyn ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From MicroGee@aol.com Subject Re Remove duct tape, the Force >>Not quite. One thing it doesn't do at all is hold ducts together. In that regard it is more like a politician campaigning; a bunch of promises, not much performance, and a whole lot of unintended consequences. << Maybe Gary is right, as regards U.S. politics, but that is not the format that SMML intends. Sometimes, a simple and readily available solvent will do that miracle. This spring, I removed the residue from a long-blemished plastic rear window on my wife's Chevy Tracker (it had been from a flag decal) which had remained since she purchased it used. The dealer said that any solvent that was used to try to remove it would destroy the plastic in the window. One day, while refueling the lawn mower, I dabbed a bit of gasoline-soaked rag on the corner of the blemish. Guess what? 87 octane cleaned up that sticky blob instantly. And no dire destruction was evident. Moral Try it anyway, if you have not much to lose. Anybody know of any military or history museums, displays, etc. he can visit while he's there? Please reply directly to me (ned@barnettmarcom.com) so I can get the word to David ASAP - post to the list, too, if you'd like, but please let me know directly. Thanks Ned ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From "Tom Detweiler" Subject Photoetch windows OK, here's a question for the wooden ship builders in the larger wooden kit scales I have the Artesania kit, Queen of the Mississippi, in 1/80 scale. I have already figured out the 1/72, 1/76 and HO (1/87) figures and accessories will work fine for it, and have built some already. But I don't like the heavy, clunky, out of scale cast metal deck windows or doors Artesania provided, and there are a lot of them. I'd rather have photoetch windows, which would look better, and I want to find some close to the 1/80 scale. I'd consider HO scale photoetch details if I could find any. Anybody got any sources for 1/72 to 1/87 scale details and photoetch?
