Thanks to Tony for these outstanding contributions. I wonder if pictures of HMS Valiant were taken, before, during or just after the incident. A quick search on the web was unsuccessful (but maybe I missed some...). Any suggestion/ link/ pictures from SMMLies ? Best wishes to you all Bruno Gire Bordeaux, France ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From Michael Aono Subject Re 1/350 ship motorizing components I missed the first half of this conversation but are you attempting to drive multiple shafts with a single motor or gearing down the rpms for speed control? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From beyondsun@mindspring.com Subject ACCELERATING TESTORS RED? Over the years I have continued and even increased my use of Testors Red Formula polystyrene cement; I have found it unparalleled in its abilities not only to truly weld styrene but also to fill gaps. It sticks far better than putty, cures much less brittle and - when fully cured - sands identically to the surrounding styrene (a major advantage over gap-filling superglues). But the curing time is where I have a problem; I've found (here in South Florida) that Testors Red Formula takes at least 2 weeks before it's ready for the above working; shaping and finishing the filled area(s). Does anybody know of any substance(s) or technique(s) by which this curing time can be reduced? Any help or ideas greatly appreciated! Cheers, Matty ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From chris Subject Dragon 1/350 Los Angeles sub questions Hi All, I have a number of the Dragon 1/350 Los Angeles class subs to build and recall there seemed to be some problem with the VLS layout? Is this so? Any other problems I should be aware of? Many thank, Chris Evenden Australia ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From "Chuck B. Evans" Subject 1/350 ship motorizing components Will, I have built the Tamiya 1/350 fleet and saved all of the motorized parts (for some reason). Contact me and I’ll be glad to send them to you.
