The DML Hampton kit has some problems with the VLS layout. It is supposed to have 4+2 instead of 3+3 (according to Tom Dougherty's review on Rejans Ship Kit List.) I had a terrible time with the door...even lost one. I decided to close some of them, and leave a few open. Not too happy with the way it is coming out. Good luck! Ed Wandall ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Reynaga, Tim@EDD" Subject Re Merry Christmas >> Merry Christmas from Iraq everyone at SMML. I hope that you all stay safe this holiday season. I have enjoyed reading about all of the new kits and books comming out, I was hoping that Santa would drop off a 1/72 U-baot kit but all I found under my tree was a couple of scorpions. I hope that all of you got the kits and books you were wanting and continue to build and read about ship modeling. Until the next post, keep building and stay safe << Roy, I heard Santa took some fire from insurgents over Iraq and so missed a few of our people there. No problem. Let me know your APO address and I'll send you a 1/72 U-Boat with my compliments. I and my family did indeed "stay safe" this Christmas, in part because of the efforts and sacrifices of forward deployed men and women such as yourself. Thanks, and God bless you! Also any e-mail relating to this site or it's content should now be sent to mail@44mlb.com If you haven't seen the site recently, it is now quite extensive, with over 100 pages and over 1500 images, so perhaps it's time to have another look!!! Out of the 110 U.S. Coast Guard 44's, I am now missing photos of just three boats, the 44330, 44353 and the 44359. I am also looking for photos and information on quite a few of the retired 44's. Any help here would be very welcome. The next big change will be a complete re-design of the site. I hope that you had a Great Christmas and I wish you all the best for the New Year.
