The Trumpeter models are much better! Best regards Detlef Hartwig ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From JRKutina@webtv.net (John Kutina) Subject wood for small projects I found that medical tongue depressors make a great source as a hobby wood source. It is knot free, very smooth and strong. I use a coping saw to cut it and/or a small hobby electric jig saw. Regards, John Kutina ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From Kelvin Mok Subject S-boote guns Questions about S-boote guns. 1. 37mm cannon training wheels. The right hand wheel is for elevation. The left hand wheel is for rotating the gun on its base. What is the third wheel for, the one behind the right hand one? It looks like someone will have to stand behind the seated elevation operator to operate this wheel. 2. Are there any detailed drawings available for the 37 mm cannon and the twin 20 mm cannons? Its pretty hard to make out the details from the many photos I have collected. I am planning a 1/24 model. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From 03136040@brookes.ac.uk Subject Heller Arromanches (ex HMS Colossus) Hi, I'm in the process of converting the Arromanches back to the HMS Colossus however I've failed so far to find some important details. Did the Colossus have a Flight Deck ID (letter) and if so, where was it? What was the pennant number of the Colossus as I've found data saying both R15 and R61 -which is the real number and was this displayed? Finally, as the ship served very briefly with the RN, does anyone know of any detailed images of the ship as I have so far found only distant photos. Thanks, Richard ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Model club & SMMLcon Information ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) From brownatfareham@surefish.co.uk Subject Small Warship Group - Escort The website (www.smallwarshipgroup.org.uk) has been updated once more.
