Use following link- http//cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=64304&item=8300561473&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW By the way, I have a copy of the booklet and it is very good, but I am NOT the seller!!! For all Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm info, the best site is http//www.fleetairarmarchive.net Good luck!! Ransford (Taff) Rogers CPO R.N. (Rtd) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From RD BEAN Subject Re PANDA DML....and ESSEX angled deck.... from Ray in Canada.... PANDA is not dead. Some rumor started a couple months ago..... PANDA, DML, DRAGON, all the same company, different boxes go out different back doors. Panda has pushed back the 350th angled deck ESSEX because they want to release it in 700 scale FIRST as the INTREPID. Good plan. Get more sales in first, see how it goes. Forthcoming ESSEX kits are late war Short and Long Hulls, names not released yet. Panda is healthy and strong. I talk to them every day. Their web site really does need updated and I have suggested that strongly. I am not an employee or agent for them, but have been a consultant for/with them and its ongoing, for over a year now and assisted in launching the ESSEX kits. RANDOLPH early war fit is due out in a month with SB2Cs and TBFs. RDBean ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Victor Prall" Subject Trumpeter 1/350 Lexington/Saratoga Does anyone know when or if Trumpeter plans to release a USS Saratoga (CV-3) following their Lexington release? I sure would feel foolish beating my brains out trying to convert a Lexington to a late war Saratoga only to find out that the work had already been done for me. Victor Prall ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From Skyking918@aol.com Subject Hobby Shop Recommendation I'd like to recommend a hobby shop, if that's allowed. The shop in question is Ventura Hobbies of Ventura, California (http//venturahobbies.com), Vern Morseman, proprietor. I placed a telephone order on Monday and it arrived in today's mail. Their motto is "Where service comes first," and I believe it. I firmly believe in supporting local hobby shops first, but in this case I was looking for an out-of-production kit and Vern happened to have one. They get a 5-star rating in my book for friendliness and helpfulness and excellent service. Michael McMurtrey Enid, OK (WDG) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From Kdg345@aol.com Subject Re USS Reluctant Sir I served on an AKA during the Korean war and it was larger than the Reluctant which I knew as an AKL. The AKA was built as an C2-S-B1 hull. I have built a model of this from scratch, save for the hull which was purchased. The WW2 victory ship was also similar to an AKA in length. The AKA was 459 feet in length with 5 holds. I believe the USS Pueblo was also an AKL, but refit for its spy mission. Ken in Kent ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From "dengar" Subject Kresta Class 1 & 2 Many thanks to Gennady for all the magnificent photographs, especially those of the large scale museum model Kresta 1 Sevastopol. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the SMML site for the List Rules, Reviews, Articles, Backissues, Member's models & Reference Pictures at http//smmlonline.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Volume
