I'm familiar with the information in Jane's. Is there anything else out there? The countries I know of that had US built PT boats are/were Sweden, Norway, Russia, West Germany, Italy, Yugoslavia, Turkey, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Argentina, Cuba, Dominican Republic, United Kingdom and Egypt. Thanks, Chip Marshall; Silver Spring, Maryland USA ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Mason, Jeff" Subject Tamya HMS Rodney Hi I modeled Tamya’s HMS Rodney as probably my first water line kit many years ago & have just started to do this kit again (just to see if my skills have improved) My question is what guns are represented by the 4 cast lumps just below the Bridge structure, (if guns are what they are). Can any RN Buffs help. Cheers Jeff Mason ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From david@dhathaway.freeserve.co.uk Subject Questions - Ben Read, 1923 and plans for 1900's steam trawler Fellow smml'ies As the list does not seem to have failed to answer any of my questions to date, here is a double chance to maintain the 100% success rate! Question 1 - I recently came across a display model of the Ben Read, a coastal tanker built in 1923 by Charles Hill (?) for the National Benzole Company according to the plaque. About 500 tons and 130 to 140 feet long. I would like to find plans for her but have so far drawn a blank. There is a Figurehead model in 11250 but I have not got a reply from the manufacturer yet. Anyone able to help? Question 2 - I am working on a model of the Canadian fishery protection vessel CGS Canada, built in Britain in 1904 - but this is not the subject of the enquiry! At some stage when she is finished I would like to put together a small diorama showing her "inspecting" a ficticious steam trawler she may have found fishing on the Grand Banks around 1905-1910. A quick Google search showed nothing promising and I was wondering if anyone can point me at a source for a decent set of drawings/plans for an appropriate atlantic/grand banks cod-fishing steam trawler from that time. I would prefer the vessel was British but would consider anything that I could use. Bearing in mind the trawler will be in 1250 scale, the drawings do not have to be ultra-detailed but I would like as much detail as possible.
