I usually scale my paints by adding white in various amounts to lighten the original color. Red and white make pink. Anyone know of a way to lighten/scale coast guard red? rolie in Halifax, NS ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRADERS, ANNOUNCEMENTS & NOTICEBOARD ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) From "Rod" Subject Model ships for sale Hello all, I continue to thin down the shipyard and am offering models here to the list first, before trying to sell on Ebay. I have about 75 models, all plastic (no resin) from the major manufacturers Revell, Italeri, Tamiya, Hasegawa, Monogram, etc. Since there are so many, I'd prefer not to take up list space here. However, if you email me I'll send you the list. Thanks, Rod. Massachusetts ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From Mike Bartel Subject IHP Announcement Hi all, IHP's 1700 scale Algerie kit is about to enter production (seriously). We have received and approved a sample kit. Thanks to the competing Algerie kits offered at the ridiculously low, undercutting prices by Combrig and HP, our dealers do not want to stock IHP's Algerie. Therefore, IHP's Algerie will be offered direct to the public from IHP's website and will be the only IHP ship kit to be offered as such. Only 30 kits will be produced. Retail price will be $95.00. Shipping in the USA is FREE for the first kit and $3.00 each additional kit. Foreign orders please email IHP for shipping to your country. There is a normal dealer discount available should dealers wish to order it, but you are subject to IHP's normal dealer terms. So,what do you get for double the price of the other two kits? You get all parts to model the Algerie in any fit from 1937 to 1942, including two different aircraft. There are a LOT of parts in this kit. Turned-brass gun barrels and real anchor chain are also included. Sorry, no PE (not worth it for such a short run). You also get IHP's attention to detail and accuracy. To reserve, email Mike at IHP right away to get on the list. Do not send money until you are notified that the kits are in stock and ready to ship.
