Hope this helps until I can dig out the photo albums or a more knowledgable hand pipes in. << There is also (or was during the mid '80s) a CIWS mount on the O-10 level, just outside and slightly forward of the signal shack. If someone needs, I also have shots taken during the return from WestPac cruise. Bob ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Brent4" Subject Yamato sites Hi Do you know of any sites for Yamoto info esp paint colours. Many thanks Brent Swiggs Christchurch New Zealand ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From Skyking918@aol.com Subject Moving to Texas Fellow Smellies This is just to let you know that I will soon be moving to Carrollton, Texas, where I will be the Editor at Squadron/Signal Publications effective 1 July. I hope to meet those of you residing in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area at IPMS meetings, model contests, and local hobby shops (if there are any of those left!). My email address will remain the same (skyking918(at)aol.com) for the immediate future. Buy ship books from Squadron! Michael McMurtrey Enid, OK (WDG) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From Steve Norton Subject Re Knightsbridge article Tom D.'s contribution of the link to the Knightsbridge artivle" Is the USN Overrated is a must read for everyone interested in modern naval warfare, As an Ex-Operations Room Supervisor in Maritime Command of The Canadian Forces (although I still refer to it as the RCN) it raises many issues from various perspectives, and might just open a few eyes. The praise for our 'Lesser capable" combatants is a morale-booster at least, and should be read by every member of Congress that maintains the current big ship school of thought....Thanks again Tom! S.A. Norton ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From Skyking918@aol.com Subject LSTs A contact of mine has asked me whether there are any books on LSTs. His father-in-law served on LST 926. I am not personally aware of any LST books, other than the one I found on amazon.com. Any ideas? Michael McMurtrey Enid, OK (WDG) ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From Leswatts6@aol.com Subject 1/700th warships I find it very difficult here in the UK to get any information on new kits. Can you suggest any publication which lays it all out.
