Does anyone know what 1/700 scale models exist. I am happy to adapt/copnvert also. Main focus at the moment is the US Aggresive class as everyone seemed to have them after the war and during 60's and 70's. << Terry I know of only one plastic model of minesweeper and I cannot remember if its 1/700 or 1/350. It is by Heller and of the American MSC class in French Colors, the name Mecure springs to mind. Will dig it out of stored kits in my workshop and find out more for you. I do suggest that you visit www.minesweep.org/chainlocker.htm this is the best Webb site for modern early NATO Minesweeper information, WWII and 1950-1980's. Not only do they cover the MSO and MSC American minesweepers, lend/lease cold war boats but also the RN, Dutch, Turkish, Norwegian, German and Canadian minesweepers. Lots of great pictures and articles. They also have a copy of the General ships plans of the USS Esteem MSO438. This is a must site for anyone interested in Minesweepers and their brave crews. As an ex-minesweeper sailor I wish you luck. I myself am starting to build a model of the sweep I served on, the USS Peacock, MSC198, though my scale will be a bit bigger than yours, 1/32nd will give it some nice size and detail. So, good luck to you and any time you want to talk Navy minesweepers, just drop me a line. Best regards, Mark Micucci Ex-EM3 USS Peacock MSC198 "any ship can be a minesweeper.....Once!" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Allan and Crystal Plumb" Subject Lexington and Yankee Modelworks OK, so for some time Greatmodels has listed a Yankee Modelworks "USS Lexington resin and PE 1938-1941 for Trumpeter". No details. YM's website shows nothing about it, and does not appear to have been updated since 10/04. Today, Pacific Front says it is in stock - and also lists a 1/350 YM USS Montana. Hmm. So, does YM have a better URL than www.yankeemodelworks.com, or where can I find out more about these? (The Lexington is serious, the Montana is probably just wishful thinking.) TIA. Allan Plumb ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From M Brown Subject John Lambert Anyone able to get on to John lambert's site? It seems to have gone belly up. Regards, Michael Brown ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- TRADERS, ANNOUNCEMENTS & NOTICEBOARD ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) From Derek Frost Subject Book FS F/S "AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN BATTLESHIPS OF WORLD WAR ONE" .
