I'm in the process of verifying the results at the Nats and I have come up one name short. It doesn't effect the placement of the model, but I need to know the modeler's name. For some reason, it was omitted from the database and I want the guy to get credit in The Journal. If you entered a model and it placed in the following category, please contact me ASAP. IV. Ships 402.00 Powered 1/400 and larger I need to know for verification purposes, (1) the Name of your ship, (2) it's placement (1st, 2nd, 3rd), and (3) your name. Rusty White IPMS/USA Head Ship Judge ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Harold Stockton" Subject Yankee Modelworks USS Lexington backdate kit 1350 Yankee Modelworks' kit #3001 is a USS Lexington Backdate Kit as she appeared between 1938 and 1941. The kit is a conversion set for the Trumpeter USS Lexington kit. Set includes resin and PE parts. The kit can be seen at http//www.yankeemodelworks.com/ and at http//spruebrothers.zoovy.com/product/YKM3001 . This kit is probably this company's detail sets for their own 1/350 scale resin USS Lexington. This would then presume to include both round and square 1.1 inch gun tubs. Four (4) 8 inch guns will be included for those who wish to backdate their own kit, along with white metal parts. And, three (3) complete sets of photo-etched sheets are included as well. This company also produces their # YKM-7201, 1/72nd Scale Revell U-Boat Upper Pressure Hull to correct one of the minor flaws with the 1/72nd Scale Revell Uboat kit; that they did not include the top of the pressure hull when they created the kit. If you open the holes, you would see nothing but a big empty space where there should be detail. Yankee Modelworks has solved that problem for you. This kit is designed to fit inside the Revell 1/72nd scale Type VII U-Boat. It consists of 3 large high quality cast resin parts. All of the detail such as high pressure tanks, piping, and hatches are all cast in place on top of the parts. All you need to do is cut open the limber holes, insert our parts according to the instructions, and paint! These sections will greatly enhance the look of your U-boat kit for just a little extra work. Other 1/350 scale ships are their YKM-35064 IJN Kagero YKM-35067 IJN Akizuki YKM-35068 IJN Furutaka YKM-35069 IJN Mogami (1942) YKM-35070 IJN Mogami 1944 (with extended aft flight deck) YKM-35104 AS-3 USS HOLLAND (1943) Harold ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Harold Stockton" Subject 1/350 scale USN carrier & a/c markings Yankee Modelworks 1350th Scale Ship Decals (Waterslide Decals Printed by Microscale) for WW-II and Modern USN ships and subs, Russian subs, and pre-WW-II IJN ship markings (Inlcudes Katakana & Hirugana Markings). Also, this same company has these modern aircraft sets Carrier Wing 7 USS Dwight D Eisenhower 1979 (86 aircraft) Carrier Wing 8 USS Nimitz 1977 - 1981 (90 aircraft) Carrier Wing 8 USS Nimitz 1975 - 1977 (76 aircraft) WW-II era sets are CV-2 Decal Set 1941-1942 (5 sheets includes VB-2, VF-2, VT-2, VS-2, and Extras) CV-5 Decal Set 1941-1942 (5 sheets includes VB-5, VF-5, VT-5, VS-5, and Extras) CV-6 Decal Set 1941-1942 (5 sheets includes VB-6, VF-6, VT-6, VS-6, and Extras) CV-8 Decal Set 1941-1942 (5 sheets includes VB-8, VF-8, VT-8, VS-8, and Extras) USN Aircraft Markings 1943-1944 (includes markings for SBD, TBM, F6F, SB2C, F4U aircraft enough to decal an entire Essex Class CV Wing), coming. The above listed decals can also be ordered as separate squadron decals if needed. Very thorough details for that 1/350 scale Air Group.
