This is a link to the trailers. Obviously, it is in Japanese. http//www.yamato-movie.jp/trailer.html Derek "Deke" Wakefield UES Indianola (SCL-88) The Iscandar Project - Whispers of Iscandar http//www.iscandar-66.org Ham W6WAV ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Michael Smith" Subject USS Lexington (CV-2) at Coral Sea - foremast issues with the Trumpeter kits Just got the Trumpeter 1/700 Lexington (CV-2) at Coral Sea and in studying it ran into some accurizing issues dealing with the foremast. There were some changes made to the ship's fire control platforms concluding in March 1942 that it appears to me the kit only partially replicates. It looks like the aft one was dismantled completely in March 1942 (the kit does this, as did the Fujimi before it) and the forward one lost its middle deck sometime earlier (after October 1941 but before March 1942), but the hipped roof of that deck that tied into the mast-top platform appears to have remained (if that makes sense) as well as a small gun tub-type structure above that forward of the mast-top platform. The kit doesn't have either of these, which is one reason the kit (and its 1/350 cousin) have a bit of a buzz-cut appearance here compared to the graceful pyramidal foremast I was used to. It struck me as odd when I saw the 1/350 kit photos, and after researching the issue a bit I discovered that's why it didn't look right to me - I wasn't aware that these decks were altered shortly before the ship's loss (part of the removal of the 8 in. battery, deletion of topweight and overall adding on of small caliber AA). But I'm still not sure the kits are right - there are some additional structures in photos that aren't on the model. Is anyone aware of any reviews of the kit - or more likely the 1/350 Trumpeter kit that I understand this one closely follows - that discusses the accuracy of the FCP on the foremast for Coral Sea? Or any details on what precisely was done to the foremast FCP prior to the ship's loss? Hi all, I've just obtained a copy of Raven's "Camouflage Volume One Royal Navy 1931-1941", although I have yet to read it, I was just looking at his colour swatches on the back and I was wondering if anyone out there has matched these colours to those of Humbrol, Tamya, REVELL and Gunze Sangyo etc. Now I know that White Engsin stocks these colours, but they are not readly avaliable here in Australia, so I would like to be able to stick with what is, particularly if I can get them in acrylic. So if anyone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Brett Soden. They really needed to have it in three parts like LOTR or Star Wars.
