I am taking the plunge and getting a Skytrex 600 scale kit and see what I can do with it using WEM upgrades. If any one can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated. I found some photos Navyphotos.co.uk and I am aware of the plans drafted by Lambert and Ough but I really don't want to spend upwards of $40+ to detail a $13 kit! Thanks, Felix ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Osvaldo Leandri" Subject ADV/AZIMUT 1/35 Schnellboot S-100 Hello, can anybody tell me the materials and quality of this kit? I'm thinking of buying one but I was asked $1,200 for it. Is it really worth that much?. Any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Oz ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Robert Mosher" Subject Re Imperial Russian Life Rings - Color? From URUDOFSKY@aol.com >> If the restored Aurora is historically correct, the rings could be half white, half red http//albums.tomoro.net/Jerome/st_petersburg/html/01_f.html << The pattern of upper half white and lower half red is also what is shown in the color illustrations of my copy of "Rossiiskii Flot - Korabli Russwko-Yaponskoi Voini" by Sergei Sulinga and published by Arsenal in Moscow in 1993. Robert A. Mosher ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4) From "William H. Shuey" Subject Re the Scorpion affair All parties in this discussion need to be reminded of the variation of Occam's Razor which states "Never attribute to conspiracy that which can best be explained by simple stupidity"! Scorpion went to sea as the first test subject of a much reduced maintenance regimen. Anyone familiar with something as complex as a nuclear submarine knows this was MAJOR STUPIDITY! Bill Shuey ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5) From Gmshoda@cs.com Subject Re The Scorpion Mystery I have nothing to add, not knowing much about submarines, but thanks to all as this is an intriguing thread. I think everyone has provided a lot of interesting information. Gregory Shoda ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6) From Paul OReilly Subject CFB Esquimalt Museum Photo ID Project All Thanks to the great support we've been receiving from you we're making good progress with our photos. We've replaced a bunch that had been identified or which had not received any attention. We've just now added about 20 more photos for your comment. Please go to the site listed below and let us know what you think the ship might be (name, date or background info). http//www.navalandmilitarymuseum.org/resource_pages/ID_Project/ID_Project_1.html Thanks.
