Its coming from Trumpeter and is due in the next few months. It will be in the 1941 configuration and will contain some p/e parts. White Ensign Models is already working on a full set of p/e parts that will be ready when the kit is released. Heres a link to the US distributor's Hood announcement and a picture- http//www.cybermodeler.com/news/images/tsm_hood.pdf Best regards, Sandy ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Petr Haluza" Subject Re HMS Victorious decks Dear John L. and Stephen A., thank you for your answers. I would lite to ask one more time. Did the safety catwalks (Ark Royal, Victorious in WW II) have round holes such as aircraft carriers class Essex? Or were they latticed? Were the rails covered with canvas or metal plate or with nets? Thank you all Petr Haluza ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From Subject Boiler and Engine Can anyone help with a schematic or explanation of how the Boiler and Engine system worked on the Type 12 and Leander Frigates. I believe they were triple expansion turbines with “sprayer” type Babcock and Wilcox Boilers. I am particularly interested in the water feed system, was it closed loop or was sea water used? Also what drove the Turbo Alternators, were they mechanically driven from the engines or steam powered? Final query is since oil sprayers were used why did it take four hours to raise steam from cold? Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check out the SMML site for the List Rules, Reviews, Articles, Backissues, Member's models & Reference Pictures at http//smmlonline.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- End of Volume
