You probably are right about most modellers, but most modellers don't buy resins. I find it difficult to believe that anyone would pay the extras for a resin kit , (or even know about a resin kit!) and not be concerned about its accuracy. I've no immediate intention of buying either Nizam kit. Neither have I any intention of throwing out kits that I know to be inaccurate, but given a choice at the buying stage I know which way I'd go. Graham Boak ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2) From "Wetherhorn" Subject Japanese submarine designations I was once told that "I", "RO", and "HA" were the first three characters of the traditional Japanese Katakana and Hiragana phonogram tables. That would make them the Japanese equivalent of A, B, C. The tables have 48 characters that are roughly equivalent to English syllables. The "YU" transport submarines were operated by the Army and the designation was a short form of "yuso-tei" which means "transport craft". I am not a Japanese linguist. Perhaps another forum member can confirm this? Aryeh Wetherhorn Elazar, Israel ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3) From "Christopher & Kayo" Subject HMS Nizam >> Finally I wonder if you would possibly take exception to someone passing judgement on one of your books the way you seem to with the work of others. I rather think if I based a review on a picture of the cover and a few test shots on a website without ever seeing it myself, you would be less than happy. << I suggest you go back and read my comments again. I made it clear that the moulding was not an improvement on the WEM model. Now ask yourself why Niko would put a detailed set of photos on the web. It is for people to take a look at it and make a decision on whether to buy the model. They include enough detail in the photos for one to make an evaluation and also to review the product. They also do not indicate that this is a test shot (I suggest you take a look at the photos and the webpage) and even include a photo of the box top showing the model as it is represented in the photographs. As for accuracy this is not minor as plenty of research is easily available and we pay for good research not for an inaccurate model which is an easy build. (Note I do not comment on build quality as I have never built the model) Of course if you cannot see the model you cannot judge but when a company posts detailed and clear photos of the model on their website one is able to make an evaluation. As I said before people now have more information to make a better evaluation of Niko Model's product than what Niko and you feel they should have. I feel you would be better off learning a bit of objectivity rather than acting as an unpaid cheerleader for Niko Models. Then maybe I would feel able to credit your opinions and comments.
