David Wells said in response to my Hoggatt Bay question > 3) USS Hoggatt Bay CVE75. Now what Casablanca class kit did you buy? Yes, I do want a review, but I'm interested in Casablanca kits, since my GF's father served on the USS Attu. (CVE-102) I might be willing to go with 1/700, since my eyes still work, and I do have a magnifying glass around. (and I'm not going to put out the big bucks for a 1/350!) -- I have the BWN Gambier Bay kit, in 1/350 -) It's been on the pile for years. -- A friend of mine's father flew an FM-2 Wildcat off her 11/44 to about 2/45, then went to Saginaw Bay with VC-88. (I've already built him a model of an FM-2 in 1/48, in VC-88 markings. Naturally I used a conversion kit, and then I was almost done, Sword came out with a direct kit of the FM-2.) -- Shipcamouflage.com says 33/18A, but a correspondent from the list said it was really 12A. The site has a diagram of 32/12A, and that pattern _definitely_ matches the pattern on HB pictures. 32 or 33? Not enough to be sure, but I have the right pattern now and will decide the colors later. The section for "Watercraft" has only 6 messages last I checked, but even on the main Airfix forum not much had changed here either.
