Jim's Liners

Finnjet
Revell 1/400

This is a fast ferry(and how!!) Gas Turbine powered, rest to 33 knots in 3 minutes!! Built out of box with sprue ariels and PE with careful painting according to excellent aeriel photo on boxlid!

This was an antidote to building HMS HOOD in 1/350 (WEM) back in 1997/8
RMS Mauretania
Airfix 1/600

This has some mods, noticably stanchion supports twixt promenade decks, PE railings etc. This model was built in 1995
RMS Queen Elizabeth II
Airfix 1/600

This was built out of the box with thinning down of some wind deflector areas, still quite a presentable model. This was built in 1995

RMS Queen Elizabeth
Airfix 1/600

This has some mods, PE from GMM. The model was built in 1995

SS Canberra
Airfix 1/600

I so needed to build this ship that I paid 145.00 GBP!! (it was RARE back then!!!) now 7.99 GBP...sigh

Quite a lot of mods noticably on sundeck galleries and interior lower levels and sports deck.note clear screen on fwd observation deck this was my state of the art back then. This model was built in 1996

SS France
Airfix 1/600

This had lots of work done here on aft glazed lounge areas, created wave breakwater on fore deck and turtle decking added support staunchions and glazed areas on aft deck. The model built in 1995

SS Oriana
Revell 1/600 "ish"

Another case of more money tahn sense; I paid over 100.00GBP for this also believing that NO ONE would EVER re-release such a strange and unusual ship again; HOW wrong was I.

Lots of work done on this one, ships boat gallery deck is thin wood strip all aft galleries have been opened up, all vent grilles around funnel structure were hand drawn with rotring, numerous addition and modifications loads of windows around fwd structure had to be drawn etc etc.

This model still stands up quite well nowadays - the model was built in 1997
