Paul Glitz's models
I found a few photos of two models I built, based on
the Revell 4-stack destroyer. One was a 3-funnel "ocean escort" version
rearmed with 6 3"-50's. The other was a conversion into an aviation-support
ship. They were built about 1970, just after I discovered how to heat
and stretch plastic sprue/runner....It must have been shortly after
I found a copy of Alden's flush deck destroyer book( surely the Rosetta
Stone for anyone interested in those ships).
The models survived several moves over the years, I think they might reside in a box in a cool corner of the garage. I'm just about ready to do the semi annual "cleaning of the garage" so my wife can't claim she can NEVER, never, park a car in it .So if I'm careful with the amount of explosives I use to clear a path maybe I'll dust them off and see if they have been dismasted. |
